While Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan are still wondering whether to enter politics, here is Vishal who had decided to take the plunge straight out without any procrastination or dilly-dallying. He announced on his social media page, “This is to inform everyone that I have decided to contest in the upcoming election to be held in RK Nagar. I will be filing my nomination this Monday, 4th Dec. Hoping for a change & the change is inevitable....GB- Vishal”

The tall, dark and handsome actor filed his nomination papers for the by-poll in the RK Nagar constituency in Chennai which has attracted all the attention now. The election is scheduled to happen on the 21st of December. He will be contesting as an independent candidate and has not allied himself with any political party.

Before reaching the electoral office, the actor made a series of stops at various memorials to pay respects to late leaders from the state. He kick-started his tour with a visit to a temple. After the temple, Vishal visited the Kamaraj memorial in T. Nagar, then late MG Ramachandran’s house in Ramapuram, then at Perarignar Anna's memorial at the Marina beach and then his next stop was at the memorial of late Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa.
