Vishal offers to pay farmer's debt

As news and video about the thrashing that a farmer in Thanjavur received from the hands of police for not paying his loan dues went viral, actor and Nadigar Sangam general secretary Vishal has come forward to pay up the amount that the farmer owed to the lenders.

“I don’t know this farmer personally, but I can understand what it feels to be a farmer who cannot repay his loans. So, the moment I saw him suffering (through a video that went viral), I decided to repay his loans whatever may be amount,” the actor told media.

Vishal said he came to know about the incident this morning after a tweet by noted film director Pandiaraj. Soon afterwards, with the help of his fans, he identified the farmer, G Balan of Thanjavur, and assured him that he would repay all his loans.
