Vishal responds to Ponvannan's resignation

We had reported about the confusion and chaos in the Tamil Nadu Film Producer Council Meet. There were widespread allegations against President Vishal especially after he decided to contest in the RK Nagar by-elections. Further to this, Ponvannan submitted his resignation as the Vice President from the Nadigar Sangam citing that Vishal’s political intentions will affect the industry and Nadigar Sangam.

Nadigar Sangam sent a press statement saying that they want Ponvannan to continue as the Vice President. Nadigar Sangam’s President Nasser clearly said that special executive committee exchanged views about Ponvannan’s letter and decided to give extra time to the actor to reassess his resignation.

During a meet of the Nadigar Sangam Vishal said, "We have not accepted Ponvannan’s resignation. He couldn't make it the meeting due to short notice. We spoke to him on the phone. Ponvannan sir himself will appear in front of the media, answer questions and make a formal announcement."
