Vishal wants to do a triology of Shakespeare's comedy plays
Oct 1, 2014 NRHaving adapted three of the most popular tragedies by William Shakespeare into films, Film-maker Vishal Bhardwaj now wants to turn three of his comedy plays into films.
Bhardwaj was speaking at the launch of his books based on his three Shakespeare adaptations - "Maqbool" (Macbeth), "Omkara" (Othello) and "Haider" (Hamlet).
"I think you can adapt any William Shakespeare play into a film. I want to do 'King Lear', 'As You Like It'. But I mainly want to do his comedies and I might do a trilogy of his three comedy plays", the 49-year-old said.
Bhardwaj did not reveal the names of the plays he plans to pick up. His mentor Gulzar's 1982 cult comedy "Angoor" was also based on one of Shakespeare's plays - "The Comedy of Errors".
