Why Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan won't do the remake of Abhimaan

Sometime ago the rumour mill was abuzz that Abhishek Bachchan and his wife Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will be seen together in the remake of Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan’s 1973 hit – ‘Abhimaan’.

The news was indeed exciting, but Abhishek recently revealed that there is no remake happening for ‘Abhimaan’. The actor said, “‘Abhimaan’ is a very extraordinary movie. From all the movies that my mom and dad have done, this one is my favourite but to make a remake out of it will be very difficult. In between, there was some talk that a remake of the movie should be made with Aishwarya and I. But we both thought that it was such a good movie, so we shouldn't make a remake. Certain films... You should just leave them alone, you can't remake them. There is a magic about them that should be left. So as of now, nothing of that sort.”

While it would have been really great to see how the duo recreate the magic of Amitabh-Jaya onscreen, Abhi-Ash fans can still have some hope of seeing the two together onscreen soon. Abhishek and Aishwarya have been approached by Anurag Kashyap for ‘Gulab Jamun’.

Talking about the film, Aishwarya had said, “We have been approached for ‘Gulab Jamun’, but baaki baaton ka I don’t know what to say. We have heard the script, that’s all.”

Meanwhile, Abhishek will next be seen in J.P. Dutta's ‘Paltan’ while Aishwarya will be seen in ‘Fanney Khan.’
