Anil and Harshvardhan Kapoor in Abhinav Bindra biopic

A biopic on India’s Olympic sharp-shooter Abhinav Bindra indeed makes for an interesting subject for the celluloid. And what makes it all the more exciting is the casting of the film.

Helmed by Kannan Iyer, who directed ‘Ek Thi Daayan’ this particular project has been in the news for a while and finally the makers have finalized the lead cast for the film. The real-life father-son duo – Anil Kapoor and Harshvardhan Kapoor has been roped in to play reel father-son in the biopic.

While Anil will play the role of Abhinav’s father in the film, Harshvardhan will take up the all-important role of Abhinav Bindra in the biopic.

Earlier, Rishi Kapoor had been roped in to play the father while Ranbir Kapoor who shares his birth date with Abhinav Bindra, was to play Bindra. However, the makers have finally roped in the other Kapoor boys for the film.

Prernaa Arora of KriArj Entertainment who will be producing the film was quoted saying, “It’s a great opportunity to work on a subject that has potential to inspire millions. Harsh is perfect for the part, and will do justice to it. When we watched ‘Mirzya’, his potential was evident. He is hardworking and passionate. We believe in the project even more since we have the father-son duo on board.”

Now this is one film to look forward to.
