Asha Bhosle turns 81, thanks her well-wishers for support

Highly Versatile and successful singer Asha Bhosle turns 81 today, and she thanks her fans and well-wishers for their love and support.

"Thank you for kind greetings. Without your support I wouldn't have achieved my goals. Walk a bit longer with me & we'll find the perfect note", Asha posted on Twitter.

Popularly known as "Ashaji", she is the younger sister of legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar, and is Well-known for her voice range and versatility. In her music career that has spanned over six decades, she playback-sang for many Bollywood actresses from Madhubala, Helen and Asha Parekh to Urmila Matondkar and Kareena Kapoor.

Having sung over 12,000 songs, in Hindi as well as over 20 other (Indian and foreign) languages, she is officially acknowledged by the Guinness Book of World Records as the most recorded artist in music history.

"Piya tu ab toh aaja", "Dum maaro dum", "Yeh Mera Dil", "Radha Kaisa Na Jale" and "Yayi re yayi re" are only a few of her memorable numbers.
