Crowe won't be in 'Man Of Steel' sequel

Los Angeles, April 3 (IANS) Actor Russell Crowe believes the sequel to "Man Of Steel" won't have room for the character he essayed in the 2013 film.

The acclaimed actor played Jor-El, Superman's father in "Man Of Steel". His character was killed off by Michael Shannon's character General Zod, but later appeared as a hologram, guiding Superman to defeat his nemesis.

However, Crowe has his doubts if Jor-El will return for the sequel as the new film is also taking a fresh direction.

"I don't think they're going to use me again. I think they're jumping onto a different stream. You know, they're going with the different superhero worlds colliding (this time)," Crowe told Yahoo Movies, reports contactmusic.com.

The movie, which features Henry Cavill reprising his role as Superman and Ben Affleck as Batman, will release in theatres in 2016.
