Hindi remake of ‘Soorarai Pottru' gets a title

The Hindi remake of Tamil film ‘Soorarai Pottru,’ released in 2020, has got a title now. Directed by Sudha Kongara, who also helmed the Tamil version, the film stars Akshay Kumar in the lead character.

Akshay took to his Instagram and shared the first look from the film in which he can be seen opening his arms while smiling and leaning backwards while riding a bike.

In another shot, he can be seen standing against an ATR 42 flight of Air Deccan. He wrote in the caption, “Dream so Big, they call you crazy! #Sarfira releasing only in cinemas on 12th July, 2024. #MaarUdi”.

‘Sarfira’ is inspired by events from the life of G. R. Gopinath, founder of Indian low-cost airline Simplifly Deccan. The film is set to hit the cinemas on July 12.

The film, which also stars Paresh Rawal, Radhika Madan and Seema Biswas in key roles, is written and directed by Sudha Kongara, who has also co-written the script along with Shalini Ushadevi, with dialogues penned by Pooja Tolani.

It is produced by Aruna Bhatia, actors Suriya and Jyotika and Vikram Malhotra under the banners of Cape of Good Films, 2D Entertainment and Abundantia Entertainment. Click the Movie button below for more info:
