Industry paid homage to Kalpana

Malayalam industry paid homage to dear actress Kalpana on her sad demise on Monday (January 25) early morning. Kalpana passed away reportedly due to a heart attack at Hyderabad. She was 50.

Celebrities from Malayalam, Tamil, and Telugu industries reached Hyderabad. Kavya Madhavan, Swetha Menon, Abhirami, Kaveri, Roma, and director Siby Malayil paid tribute to the actress.

Kalpana was at Hyderabad for the shooting of a Telugu film. Her latest Malayalam movie ‘Charlie’ is still running in theaters.

Kalpana who entered the industry as a child artist has done a noted role in ‘Pokkuveyil’ (1982) by G Aravindhan. She won the National Film Award for the Best Supporting Actress for the movie ‘Thanichalla Njan’. She has acted in around 300 movies.

Kalpana is survived by her daughter, Sreemayi.
