John Abraham makes his debut in regional cinema

Marathi film industry is booming and a lot of Bollywood actors are keen on entering the Marathi film industry. The recent one to join the bandwagon is none other than John Abraham.

John who is slowly but steadily growing his production company – John Abraham Entertainment has begun the shooting of his first Marathi production venture — ‘Savita Damodar Paranjpe.’

The ‘Force 2’ actor took to twitter to share the news. John wrote, “1st day of JA Entertainment’s Marathi Film, ‘Savita Damodar Paranjpe.’ Have been a big fan of this story. Finally getting to produce it :).”

According to reports, ‘Savita Damodar Paranjape’ is a psychological thriller adapted from a Marathi play, where the leading lady is suffering from multiple personality disorder. It was also said that the play was inspired from a real-life story of a man who was found murdered, and the autopsy revealed his heart slit from within. This man had betrayed a girl in love, which prompted her to take his life.

The film will helmed by director Swapna Waghmare Joshi of ‘Fugay’ fame and features Subodh Bhave, Raqesh Bapat and Trupti Toradmal.

Interestingly, it was five years ago, on the same day that John begun his journey as a producer with ‘Vicky Donor,’ which proved to be extremely successful at the box office. Hope John sees as much success in the regional sphere as well.
