Thiruvananthapuram, March 20 (IANS) In what is believed to be an innovative method, "Chewing Gum", a new Malayalam film, tells a tale through video dairies for transferring messages and memories.

The movie will release next month.

The theme is the time-tested topic of love, but the treatment in the making appears to be unique.

Upcoming actor Sunny Wayne plays the lead role of Dinu, while debutant Thinkal Bhal plays Violet, the female lead.

Dinu is a welding worker from a village, where Violet arrives from the city for her vacation. Video diaries, recorded by a handycam play an important role in the narrative technique of the film in which intimate moments of Dinu and Violet have been captured. Violet sent these video clips to Dinu when she returns from the village.

Later, he moves to the city and they become closer and the handycam captures their moments.

Soon, he leaves for Dubai and it's the video diaries that keep them close. After three years of separation, Dinu meets Violet again and those video diaries play a crucial role in the climax of the film.

The film is produced by Sudheer M. Sukumaran under the banner Think Cinema, while Praveen M Sukumaran is the director.

The film has two folk songs, one in Bengali and other Hindi. Click the Movie button below for more info:
