Mani Ratnam seeks to prevent streaming of OK Kanmani in the net

Director Mani Ratnam’s OK Kanmani hit the screens on 17th April starring Dulquer Salman, Nithya Menen, Prakash Raj and Leela Samson. The film has garnered huge response from A centre audience and also among the youth.


Meanwhile Mani Ratnam has approached Madras high court seeking direction to prevent streaming of the film in the Internet. The director has sought the assistance of the court to halt his movie from streaming on online portals. Hence, he sought direction to prevent 13 defendants including Google India, You Tube, BSNL, MTNL, Air Tel, Aircel, Vodafone, Reliance Communications and Tata Teleservices, who are intermediaries and telecom service providers, search engines, from permitting streaming of film in the internet.


In a relief of sorts to him the Madras High Court on Tuesday imposed a restrain order on 12 telecommunication companies over the copyright issue of his film 'OK Kanmani'. Besides these 12 telecom companies, two other online sites too have been ordered restrain, reportedly. That is a relief indeed! Click the Movie button below for more info:
