Manju Warier as Kamal's Aami

Putting an end to rumors, Kamal finally decided who will play title role in his film ‘Aami’, a biopic on the poet-feminist Kamala Surayya aka Madhavikutty. Manju Warier will essay the role of Madhavikutty.

Kamal first selected Vidya Balan to essay the role. When Vidya Balan walked out of the project, names of several other actresses were heard related to this movie.
