Mersal gets U/A

The much awaited Vijay film Mersal got certified yesterday and has received a U/A from the censor oar. This was revealed by director Atlee in his social media page who said, “#Mersal censored U/A”.

Earlier on, there was a petition filed against the Mersal team by A Rajendran of Film Factori who claimed that he has registered the title as Naan Mersalaitan, with the Tamil Film Producers Council in 2015 and he had also obtained a stay for not using the title by the film crew.

Yesterday, when the case came for hearing, the court vacated the interim injunction granted by it on September 22 restraining Thenandal Studios from using the title Mersal. Justice Anita Sumanth not only vacated the injunction but also dismissed the application seeking interim order. With the censor procedure also completed, all the decks are cleared for the film which is all ready for a Diwali dhamka. Click the Movie button below for more info:
