'Minugurulu' eyes pan-India release

Chennai, Sep 30 (IANS) It's very unlikely for a low-budget Telugu film to have a wide release in Andhra Pradesh (AP), but debutant filmmaker Ayodhya Kumar is going out of the way to ensure his film "Minugurulu" has a pan-India release.

"I'm trying my best to find a distributor who could facilitate pan-India release. I strongly believe "Minugurulu" is not for niche audience, it deserves to be seen by as many people as possible. I understand it will be extremely challenging, but I don't intend to give up," Ayodhya told IANS.

A film featuring 40 visually impaired children, "Minugurulu" is the story about how these children expose the wrongdoings of their warden in an orphanage.

How does he plan to promote the film to catch nationwide attention?

"I don't have the funds to do aggressive marketing, but I'm planning to screen the film for national media. If I can impress them with my work, then I believe buzz around the film will automatically be created," he said.

"Even in AP, I screened the film for industry members, who in turn shared the good things about the film with others. I think more than promotions, good films are embraced when people talk about them," he added.

Directed and produced by Ayodhya, the film features Suhasini Mani Ratnam, Ashish Vidyarthi, Raghuvir Yadav and Ravi Babu in important roles. Click the Movie button below for more info:
