Mohanlal's ‘Chithram' completes 31 years

Around 31 years ago on this day, actor Mohanlal’s film ‘Chithram’ was released. Directed by Priyadarshan, the comedy-love story became a turning point in the career of the director and the actor.

Apart from Mohanlal, it is starred by Ranjini, Nedumudi Venu, Poornam Viswanathan, Sreenivasan and Lissy.

The film was released during a Christmas weekend on 23 December 1988. It made history by running consecutive 366 days with regular shows in theatres.
