Chennai, Jan 28 (IANS) Debutant Baasha, son of popular Tamil actor Nasser, will be seen playing the role of the latter's grandson in upcoming Tamil drama "Saivam", which is being directed and produced by A.L. Vijay.

"We were on the lookout for a newcomer to play the role of Nasser's grandson and that's when we came across Baasha. I was sure that he would perfectly fit in the role and, therefore, we roped him in," Vijay said in a statement.

Vijay, who has worked with Nasser in five films so far, says he is his biggest admirer.

"I'm an ardent fan of his work. I admire his acting and have always written good roles for him in my films. In 'Saivam', his role of a grandfather holds the film together," he added.

Baasha will play an 18-year-old in the film, which will feature debutante Twara Desai opposite him.

Child actress Sara Arjun, who had worked with Vijay in "Deiva Thirumagal", also plays an important character in "Saivam".
