Govinda bowled over by new friends Salman, Sohail

Jul 25, 2007 Subhash K. Jha

Mumbai, July 25 (IANS) Govinda has found new friends in Sohail and Salman Khan, who not only gave him a chance in their recently released "Partner" but adopted the actor as a member of their extended family.

The Khans have offered him another role in their next venture. And now Govinda, as emotional as ever, is ready to reciprocate the Khans' generosity.

"After 'Partner' I've been indirectly offered another film by Sohail. Suniel Shetty's secretary George told me about it. I don't know what the project is, and I don't care. I'd do anything for the Khans blindly," Govinda told IANS.

Ever since Salman and Sohail offered a role to Govinda, who was desperately looking for an entry point in Bollywood after a not so successful political stint, the actor sings their praises.

"When I was down and out they could've given me any role, I'd have happily accepted. They instead gave me a parallel role to Salman in 'Partner," he added.

Govinda is so moved by the Khan brothers' large-heartedness that he refused to discuss or accept money from what he calls as his extended family.

"I refused to accept any money for 'Partner' although they kept insisting. I won't accept any money for this new project either. Does one talk about money with the people who have embraced you as a brother?

"Sohail and Salman are largely responsible for my second innings. When I didn't take any money for 'Partner', Sohail drove a Mercedes into my residence and gifted the key to my wife. Who does these things in this industry?"

For their next production Govinda is adamant on not accepting money.

"Yes, it's an emotional decision. What's wrong with being emotional? I wish I had met more people like Salman and Sohail earlier in my career."
