'Naksha' music is tolerable

New Delhi, Aug 27 (IANS) Director Sachin Bajaj's "Naksha", starring Sunny Deol, Viveik Oberoi and Sameera Reddy, does not fall in the genre of great music but it is not bad either.

It could have been better - especially when the team of Pritam and Sameer was at the helm of it.

The first score is an item number by singer Suzzane De Mello and is picturised on Sameera. "Shake it" is a good song with a little bit of Kailash Kher and some Punjabi rendition towards the end.

Pritam, who is known for his western bhangra mix, expertly blends western beats with bhangra to make it delectable. It follows in two different versions later.

Next up is a pop number "Yaara ve" by Abhishek Nailwal. A slow-paced song, which is dominated by electric guitar and dholak, has all the ingredients to be a chartbuster. Abhishek's voice stands out.

There is also a remixed version of the same track called "Tumbi house mix" by ZERO db with Kailash pitching in again.

"U and I" sung by Sonu Nigam is again a party song. Be ready to hit the dance floor.

However, the real winner is "Dil se mile dil", sung by Pritam and K.K.

Next song will remind music lovers of Dharmendra's "Jat yamla" from "Pratigya". Those who don't remember should gear up to see Sunny jumping on "Jat Yamla", crooned by Sonu and Shreya Ghoshal.

The last track of the album, "Nasha" by Alisha Chinoy, comes as a huge shock. One wonders whether the song is from the same movie. This Alisha number can be termed as below average.

In short, the album is enjoyable excluding the last bit. "Shake it", "Yaara ve", "U&I" and their remix versions make for an unending party mood.
