Gibson's 'Apocalypto' one-dimensional, says Emmerich

London, Feb 23 (IANS) Hollywood director Ronald Emmerich has slammed Mel Gibson's "Apocalypto", calling it one-dimensional.

Emmerich and Gibson had worked together on "The Patriot" eight years ago but that did not prevent him from criticising Gibson.

Emmerich has just wrapped up filming the mythical odyssey "10,000 BC" and it is being compared to "Apocalypto". But he believes his movie is much better than Gibson's, reports contactmusic.com.

Emmerich said: "I liked 'Apocalypto', but all I saw was a jungle and some pyramids. I was hoping to see the decline of a civilisation and that story was not really told. You get that with this movie."
