Civil warrant against Prithviraj

Delhi high court has issued a civil warrant against Prithviraj for plagiarism.

The case was registered by Canadian singer Loreena McKennitt for using her music, “Caravanserai” in the movie ‘Urumi’, infringing copyright laws. The warrant is also against Santhosh Sivan and Shaji Nadesan who were also the co-producers of the film along with Prithviraj.

“Caravanserai”, from the album An Ancient Muse, was a single of Loreena which came out in 2006. She claims that the music of this song is being used by Deepak Dev in ‘Urumi’ for the song “Alakadaloli aaro… (Aaro nee aaro…)”. Trivandrum District Court has issued the warrant for the case filed by Loreena McKennitt.
