Mammootty sings again!

So, here's Mammootty, our own Mammookka, all set to sing once again. It should be remembered that the mega-star had sung earlier on some rare occasions.

In the Kamal-directed Mazhayeththum Munpe (1995), Mammootty had lent his voice, crooning a few lines in the rap song beginning "Ladies Collegil campus Love parkil…". And then, in 1999, he again rendered a song "Poliyopoli…" in the V.M.Vinu-directed Pallavoor Devanarayanan.

And now, almost a decade later, Mammookka turns crooner once again in Kuttishranku, the Shaji N. Karun-directed film that's currently in the making. In the film, Mammootty sings a song beginning "Karikutty…", picturised on him and Suresh Krishna. The song, composed by Isaac Thomas Kottukapally, is of the folk type and comes in a scene featuring a Chavittunatakam, a theatre form prevalent in Kerala that blends drama with dance and music. This definitely is news for the fans of the mega-star, though the film, evidently an arty one, is not for fans in the main!
