'Anniyan' is the first Indian movie to be dubbed in French

"Anniyan" the blockbuster Tamil movie has created more than one history ever since it was released last month. The movie created a history when it made a record opening throughout the world surpassing the previous best held by Rajinikant starrer "Chandramukhi". Anniyan netted Rs 1.18 crore from six screens in Chennai in 10 days, which is two times more than what "Chandramuki" did during the same period.


Now, "Anniyan" becomes the first Indian cinema to be dubbed in French language. Paramount Pictures, the largest Hollywood filmmakers have decided to make the French version of "Anniyan". According to industry sources, the movie's realistic theme, taut storyline and classic presentation were the major factors considered for Paramount Pictures for taking this movie to the French audience.


"Anniyan" is continuing its winning streak worldwide. It is garnering revenues that was not seen before for any other South Indian films in many centers in India as well as overseas markets including America, England, France, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia and Singapore. The worldwide revenue is expected to gross Rs. 100 crores.
