Sep 16, 2005 NR, Sep 16Chennai, Sep 16: Arjun is the hero and also director of the new mega-budget Tamil film "Madrasi", being produced jointly by Spice Team Entertainment and Sriram Films International.
Arjun wields the megaphone after a long time. Gazala is the heroine. Two others, Vedika and Aarika, are the new faces introduced in the film.
The cast includes Vivek, Ramya, Manorama, 'Venniraiadai' Murthy, Nirmal Pandey, Mukesh Tewari, Vimalraj, Manish, Santhoshpavan and Maran.
Jagapati Raju from the Tollywood makes his debut in Tamil with "Madrasi". Plays the villain opposite Arjun.
Arjun, the hero, is a dada himself 'with a heart of gold', according the film's Public Relations Officer. The first phase of shooting took place for 15 days in Mumbai and later in London for 20 days. The locations in London are Lancaster, Preston, Blackpool and other sites where no other Tamil film had been shot, the PRO said.
A major picturization in London was a dazzling dance scene featuring Arjun, Gazala and Manish with a large contingent of 150 artistes, all from London. A fight scene with Arjun and Jagapati Raju was also filmed in London.
According to sources, this genre of story has never been told before and the film is technically different too. The further shooting is now being done in Hyderabad and it will be completed in Chennai.
Those involved in the filmmaking include: K.S. Selvaraj (camera). T. Eman (music director) and P. Vijai (singer). The producer is Suba Sandeep.
