Bullish on 'Virumaandi'

Kamal Haasan was bullish about his ambitious Tamil epic "Virumaandi" from the start. Did it have something to do with the bulls that he fights in the film?

Says Kamal: "These bullfights are part of our Tamil culture. It's a strictly Tamil sport. I've been watching it as a kid. And now they'll be shown on screen for the first time.

"Unlike the Spanish bullfights which use human wisdom to beat the bulls, the whole idea of a Tamil bullfight is an act of love and valour. You'll never see a bullfight like this in cinema."
