Cheran announces new film

Actor,director Cheran has announced his next venture and named it as "Mayakkannadi".

His recent film "Thavamai Thavamirundhu" is a big hit and he is buoyed by the rave reviews he got for this movie. He has another reason to be happy. Maestro Ilaiyaraaja is scoring the music for "Mayakkannadi".

Apart from writing the story, screenplay and direction, Cheran plays the lead role and Navya Nair is cast opposite him. Scriptwriter PanchuArunachalam's son is producing the film. Arunachalam himself is an informal consultant for the movie.

Cheran told reporters that he is really fortunate to be working with Ilaiyaraaja, who promised him adifferent fare after the maestro heard the outline of the story. The story is city-based and is about a middle class family. Dwarakanath will handle the camera.
