First-time music director scores with 'Kaadhal'
Jan 31, 2005 IANS Jan 31Chennai, Jan 31 (IANS) :Tamil film "Kaadhal", a love story with a new heroine and a new director, has surprisingly hit a jackpot. And its music is faring no different, despite being made by a fist time music director.
1."Kaadhal" (Joshua Sridhar): The music is nothing exceptional, but its songs are widely hummed because the film is a hit, the most popular song being "Thottu, Thottu" belted out by Haricharan, Harini and Sudhaar.
2."Thirupachi" (Mani Sharma): "Thirupachi" is no "Gilli", and there is no "Appadi Podu..." in the film, but one song that is steadily going climbing the charts is "Kannum Kannumthan" by Harish Raghavendra and Uma Ramanan.
3."Ram" (Yuvan Shankar Raja): Raja has proved his remarkable talent with every single album of his after "Kadal Kondein". His latest album is no exception, as the son of maestro Ilayaraja strives to fill the gap left by A.R. Rehman who has shifted to Hindi.
4."Devathaiye Kandein" (Deva): This album by Deva is nothing to write about. With the film doing reasonably well at the box office, some of the songs are topping the charts, like "Azhake Brahmanidam..."
5."Ji" (Vidyasagar): Expectations are very high both for the "Run" director Lingusamy and Vidyasagar, whose last hit was "Gilli". The song "Kiliye, Kiliye" in the Ajit-starrer has become a hit with the masses already.
