Chennai, Sep 6 (IANS): Vijaykanth-starrer "Gajendra" has got the green signal from the PMK, months after a verbal clash between the party and the actor.

The producer of the film has let the media know that PMK president S. Ramadoss has himself okayed the film.

Just three months ago, the PMK had come out with a strong statement against actor Vijaykanth, who is also president of the South Indian Film Artistes' Association.

Vijaykanth had, in June, made a public statement saying those who were not elected by the people should not be ministers. The obvious reference was to PMK leader and Ramadoss' son R. Anbumani, who is the health minister in the federal government.

Infuriated PMK cadre had threatened that they would block every film in which Vijaykanth acted.

Having spent Rs.60 million on the film, producer V. Durai rushed to plead his case with Ramadoss and now says the PMK leader has promised that his party men will not stop the screening of "Gajendra".

Already delayed, "Gajendra" is due to be released in September.
