The female lead, Rashmi, is a new find. Yet another unfamiliar face is Malaysian actor Poovesha, who does an important role.

Pandiarajan has provided a liberal dose of comedy.

Prem Shankar has handled the camera while Vishwa has done the editing. K. Suresh is the art director. 'Mirattal' Selvam has choreographed the action scenes.

Director Saravanan said 'Kaantham' is an entertainer with love as a catalyst. They have used 5D camera (1000 frames per second speed) for a song. The film has been shot in Bangalore, Kodaikanal and Chennai and it will hit the screens soon.

The album consists of four songs one of which ('Nee Vandhal') is full of pathos, sung by composer Prathab himself.
