The audio launch of Gemini Circuits Vasoolraja MBBS was unique and refreshing. Normally audio launches are held in some cinema theatre with two or three songs from the film premiered for the select audience.

The Vasoolraja MBBS launch at the University Centenary hall in Chepauk, Chennai was however innovative just like the invitation. There was a musical concert by Bharadwaj with singers like Sreenivas, 'Malgudi' Shubha, Suchitra and others singing songs from the music directors chartbusters. There was a skit and Mohammed Beeran's fantastic dance with live snakes!

The Chief Guest was none other than Vidhu Vinod Chora and Raj Hirani, the producer and director of Munnabhai MBBS, the cult classic which is now being remade in four south India languages, all with superstars.

They made brief speeches about the film and how they always thought that Kamal Hassan was the right choice to play the lead role that Sanjay Dutt made memorable. It was followed by the audio launch and the songs from the film were played for the audience.

It was director Saran, who in his speech said that a great actor like Kamal Hassan referred to by his fans as 'Ulaga Nayakan' was yet to be conferred a doctorate, something which he deserved.

JPR of Satyabhama University who was present among the audience dramatically went up to the stage and announced that he is conferring a doctorate on Padmashree Kamalhassan. This announcement made hundreds of Kamal fans, delirious as it was one of

their long standing demand which was finally made possible by JPR.

Kamal in his speech said that he was happy and thrilled to be conferred with a doctorate which he said was made possible only due to the hard work and dedication of his beloved fans.

The songs in Vasoolraja MBBS are peppy and refreshing with Kamal crooning two of them. The evening turned out to be 'paisa vasool' for the audience and fans and a red letter day for the `Ulaka Nayakan`.
