'Kuselan' ready, audio release on June 30

Rajinikanth's latest film "Kuselan" is ready and its audio cassette will be launched on June 30, Director P. Vasu told mediapersons in Chennai. The film is slated for release by the end of next month.


Vasu said the film has been shot in a record 82 days. The dubbing work also has been completed. Mixing and re-recording of songs will begin on June 23.


One song in celebration of the 75-year history of Tamil cinema remains to be filmed. Along with Rajini, Vijay, Ajit, Vikram, Dhanush and other actors are to be featured in this song "Cinema…cinema...MGR, Sivaji, NTR ivargal irunda cinema… inimel idupol varuma varuma..."


The film is produced by K. Balachander's Kavithalaya and Seven Arts. Pyramid Saimira has bought the rights of the film.


"Kuselan" is a remake of the Malayalam hit "Kadha Parayumbol" featuring Mammootty and P. Sreenivasan.


In Tamil, Rajinikanth and Pasupathy take the places of Mammooty and Sreenivasan Nayanthara and Meena are the two main female characters in the film. Others in the cast are Prabhu Ganesan, Vadivelu, Santhanam and Livingston. G.V. Prakash scores the music.


This is director P. Vasu's fifth film with Rajinikanth.


The film has also been made in Telugu with Jagapathi Babu in the lead. The Telugu title has been changed from "Kucheludu" to "Kathanayakudu".
