Mahurat for four new films performed in one day
Sep 17, 2005 P.V.Sathish Kumar, Sep 17Pooja for four new Tamil films - "Thalaimagan" starring Sarath Kumar, "Tirupati", featuring Ajit, "E", starring Jeeva, and "Oru Ponnu and Oru Payyan" featuring new faces were performed in Chennai on Thursday September 15th.
It was a happy moment especially for Nayanthara who is the heroine in two of these films- "Thalaimagan" and "E".
Radhika Sarath Kumar's Radaan Media Works India Limited is producing "Thalaimagan". After "Aiyya", Sarath Kumar pairs with Nayanthara in this film, which is his 100th movie. The pooja for "Thalaimagan" was held at the Le Meridian Hotel.
Karthik's presence gave a sentimental touch as Sarath began his career 15 years ago with a film in which Karthik was the hero. Also present were producer R.B. Chowdry, director K.S. Ravikumar and Cheran who did the screenplay for "Thalaimagan". The film is to be directed by R.D. Balaji.
Talking about the subject of the film, Sarath Kumar said in an interview that "I started my career as a journalist and in this film I am playing the role of a media person. It's a story of a straightforward man, an investigative reporter and what happens when he steps into the world of media, advertising and marketing of a newspaper. The movie attempts to portray that the 'pen' is indeed mightier than the sword."
The shooting of the film will begin in Chennai and then in Tiruchi, Pondicherry, Visakhapatnam, Munnar, Mangalore, Goa and other places. Important scenes and dances will be filmed in London, Spain, Turkey and other countries.
Pooja for AVM's "Tirupathi" starring Ajit also was performed at a glittering function at the AVM Studies in the presence of Vijai. The movie directed by Perarasu and Sada is the heroine.
Vijai's presence was a big surprise as Ajit and Vijai were not on best of terms. The animosity between them was reflected even in dialogues in their respective films. At the function, as Vijai walked in, Ajit received and hugged him and exchanged pleasantries. K.S. Ravikumar invited both of them to light the traditional "kuthuvillaku" together. They also posed for photographs.
The inaugural of "E" (Super good Films) took place nearby –Jeeva and Nayanthara are starring in this film. The invitees included Kamal Haasan and Sarath Kumar. The film is to be directed by S.P. Jhananathan. The cast includes Aashish Vidyarthi, Karunaas and Vani. Music is by Srikanth Deva and cinematography by N.K. Ekambaram.
