Malaysian Tamil comedian Param to undergo heart surgery
Feb 22, 2007 IANSKuala Lumpur, Feb 22 (IANS) Malaysian Tamil comedian P. Paramasivam, better known as Param, is getting ready for a heart bypass and spends his time these days joking with other patients, visitors and staff at the hospital.
The 53-year-old comedian, in the same genre as other Malaysian greats A.R. Badul and R. Jaafar, was admitted to the National Heart Institute here on Feb 10, after complaining of breathing difficulties.
"I like to joke a lot with the patients, visitors and staff but I get tired easily," The New Straits Times quoted him as saying Thursday.
Param, the youngest in a family of five siblings, started his show business career in 1976.
