Poornachandra may make next Rajini starrer
Jul 13, 2005 P.V.Sathish KumarSuperstar Rajinikant is so buoyed up with the runaway success of "Chandramukhi", that he is said to be contemplating his next move even as 'Chandramukhi' is running to full houses all over Tamil Nadu nearing the 100-day mark. 'Chandramukhi', directed by P. Vasu, not only lifted the spirits of Rajini after "Baba", but also helped revive Sivaji Productions, the producer of 'Chandramukhi'.
The grapevine has it that Rajini has chosen Poornachandra Rao to produce his next film with P. Vasu once again as the director. It is learnt that the superstar has already met Poornachandra Rao and held discussions in this regard. Rao was the only producer who came forward to help Rajini make his debut in the Bollywood in 1983 when he produced the Hindi film "Andha Kanoon". Rajinikant co-starred with Amitabh Bhachan in this film. This would not have been possible without the help of Rao, who was very close to Amitabh. Rao's subsequent film, "John Jani Janardhan" saw Rajini play triple roles. So, Rajini looks upon Rao as his benefactor and holds him in high esteem.
During his preliminary meeting with Rao, Rajini suggested that Rao approach P. Vasu who is said to have some subjects already at hand. Vasu has received feelers from Rao.
