Prem busy shooting 'Asoka'

"Asoka" is Prem's next venture and he is busying with the shooting of this film which started on Dec.2. He directs as also plays the lead role as a black cat commando in the film.

Prem's earlier films were "Varrar Chandiyar", "Krodam" "Veeramani" and "Andanaal Gnabagam".

.Playing opposite Prem in "Asoka" is two new faces, Anushri and Puja Bharati. Anushk has been introduced as the villain. Rajeev, Rajesh, Livingston, Anandraj and Nizalgal Ravi are among others who are in the cast.

Om Prakash is the cinematographer while Sabesh-Murali is the music director. Raja Chandrasekher has written the dialogues. The producer is Indira Prem.

An international terrorist gang abducts one of the VIPs of the country. Asoka (Prem), a private detective, is engaged to free the VIP from the terrorists. Whether Asoka is able to rescue the VIP is the story.

Being a businessman Prem could not fully involve himself in film-making. He has the script for "Asoka" ready for one and a half years, but he wanted to form a good team. The time has now come for him to take up the venture.

According to Prem, though the film is action-based and replete with stunts, there is no violence and obscenity. All characters are good in nature, but each one of them is suspenseful. The film is being made for the younger generation in keeping with the current trend. "I am not for competing with anyone but I am very much in the competition. As for as "Asoka" is concerned, I consider it as the best to be made by me in my film career," he says.
