Prithviraj to star in Tamil film

Malayali actor Prithviraj will make his Tamil debut in a film by noted cinematographer and first-time director K.V. Anand.

Malayali heroes have traditionally not had the kind of success that actresses and character artistes from the industry have had in other languages.

So far only character actors like Manoj K. Jayan, Kalabhavan Mani, Devan and Rajan P. Dev, who play villains, have succeeded in Tamil cinema.

Not surprisingly, Prithviraj plays a negative role in Anand's as yet untitled film.

Gopika, who starred in Jayaraj's Malayalam film "4 the People" and the Tamil film "Autograph" directed by Cheran, plays the lead opposite hero Srikkant.

The film's music is by Vidyasagar and the lyrics are by Vairamuthu.
