Samantha boasts she is No.1

Vivacious Samantha boasts she is No.1 now. She has been into acting for just two years. This year alone as many as eight of her films will be hitting the screens. She is currently starring in Mani Ratnam's 'Kadal', Gautham Menon's ‘Neethane En Ponvasantham’ and SS Rajamouli’s ‘Naan E’.

Talking to reporters, the 25-year-old bubbly actress said when she debuted; she never thought she would get so many opportunities so quickly. She has donned a range of characters. In her two-year career she has been lucky to work with renowned directors, such as Gautham Menon and Mani Ratnam.

Many actresses claim they are No.1. How many No.1s could be there, she wondered. The fact is every Friday the number changes. She does not believe in this game. As far as she is concerned she has signed more films than others but could not say with whom she will pair up in these new films. “You wait till the shooting begins and I will reveal,” she said.

In ‘Neethaane En Ponvasantham’, her character Nithy is much closer to her personality than the Jessi character in her previous Gautham film.” Such roles come to you just once in a lifetime.”

Touching on the story of NEP, Samantha said it is a love story that shows three phases of life _ school, college and post- college

Talking about Mani Ratnam’s ‘Kadal’, she said,” more than being excited, I am dreadfully scared because I want to do this right. Working in this film is a dream come true for me.”
