Ajit's next film with Asin playing female lead is named as "Alwar' after some deliberation. Ajit and producer Mohan Natarajan of Sri Rajakaliamman Superfilms are meticulously planning to ensure perfection. The shooting began at Hyderabad on Aug.1. Art director Sunil (of Gajini fame) has erected a massive set comprising a mansion and a huge hospital in Hyderabad where Ajit and Asin will be shooting for 20 days.

S.J. Suryah's associate Chella is debuting as the director.

Srikanth Deva is teaming up with Ajith for the first time and has composed 100 different tunes for the film. The songs will be filmed in Jaipur, Udaipur and Kulu Manali.

Chella narrated the entire story to the technical crew at a star hotel in the presence of producer Mohan Natarajan.

Alwar is a fearless man and is endowed with awesome power and strength to hit the opponents like whizzing arrows. Ajit has gained six kg by doing workouts for four hours a day for the last two months for the tough role. He had looked thin and emaciated in 'Tirupathi". His body build-up for "Alwar' makes him look as he appeared in "Vaali'

Pasupathi, "Pithamagan' Mahadevan, Sathyan, Manorama and others are in the cast.
