'Something Special' in Tamil releasing soon

Bollywood actress Mona Chopra, who sent Telugu audiences into a trance with her tons of glamour in "Something Special", is all set to rock Tamil Nadu. Acclaimed as "bold and beautiful", it is a youthful romantic flick directed by Ch Srinivas Rao and produced by Kode srinivasa Raja in 2006. The film created a flutter for its daringly bold theme in Andhra Pradesh.

It has now been dubbed in Tamil with the title of "Thappu Pannittom Mannichirungae" and is releasing soon.

Censors had rejected "Something Special" for it was replete with scenes which were too explicit for public viewing. Eventually, the film-makers had succeeded in getting the' clearance after some sleazy scenes were cut on the advice of the Review Committee to which the film was referred on appeal by the film- makers.

When most posh theatres have been blocked for Rajini-starrer "Sivaji: the boss", which is expected to be released next month, and other producers are made to wait for theatres to release their films, "Thappu…" has no problem in getting Class "A" theatres in Chennai. It may hit the screen around the time of release of "Sivaji".

The storyline: Mona is a US-returned girl who befriends two boys. Confused as to whom to marry, she decides she would try 'live-in' with each of them and marry the one who is best suited to her. But she grows fond of both of them. She marries them and lives with each of them in turns.

The cast includes Aswin, Rajendar, Samrat and Sunayana. The music was composed by Jupidi. "Indian Idol" winner Karunya has sung two of the songs in "Something Special".
