Surya drops out of Sarvam

Actor Surya has pulled out of "Sarvam" to be directed by Vishnuvardhan. This was confirmed by Vishnuvardhan himself while talking to media persons.

Bollywood starlet 15-year-old Hasnika Motwani, who is making waves in Telugu, has been selected to play opposite Surya in the new

film. A 15-minute photo-shoot of her was over after Surya's return from honeymoon with Jothika. Even some songs by Yuvan Shankar Raja were already ready.

At this stage, the announcement of Surya's opting out of the project has come as a surprise.

The reasons: Surya has given call-sheets for both "Sarvam" and a film to be made by Gautham Menon. In "Sarvam " the director wanted Surya to act looking natural while in Gautham's film, the actor has to have a "get-up". Moreover, the call-sheet dates overlap. Hence, it would not be possible for Surya to act in both the films at the same time.

"We mutually agreed," Vishnuvardhan said and added that the shooting proper would soon begin after a new hero is selected.
