Tamil hero is real life saviour

Kochi, Oct 12 (IANS) Tamil superstar Sarath Kumar, who has saved several damsels in distress from musclemen on the big screen, has now proved a real life saviour to a sportsman.

Joby Mathew, 28, is the national arm-wrestling champion and has been invited to take part in the World Arm-Wrestling Championship in Japan from Oct 27.

A newspaper recently reported that it was doubtful whether Joby would be able to make the trip. Lack of funds was cited as the reason for the uncertainty.

Sarath, currently shooting for his Tamil flick "Khakhi" in and around the city, contacted the newspaper to say he was ready to sponsor Joby's Japan trip.

He also requested authorities to expedite formalities to issue Joby a passport.
