Thankar Bachan's new project
Nov 15, 2006 P.V. Sathish KumarCinematographer-turned-director Thankar Bachan has named his new film "Pallikkoodam" (School) and starts its shooting on Nov.23. Viswas Sundar directs the film under the banner of Viswas Films.
He takes up this new project after a gap of one year. His last film was "Chidambarithil Oru Appasami. Earlier he had directed "Azhagi", Cholla Maranda Kadai", and "Thendral".
Besides directing, Thankar Bachan has written the story, screenplay and dialogue for "Pallikkoodam".
Naren, who played the hero in "Chithiram Pesuthadi", is given the lead role in "Pallikkodam". The cast includes Sneha, Shreya Reddy and Gaana Ulaganathan. Thankar Bachan too plays an important role in the film.
hankar, who introduced Cheran through "Cholla Maranda Kadai", is introducing director Seeman as an actor in "Pallikkoodam".
Bharathwaaj is the music director. Songs are written by Na. Muthukumar, Snegan, Viveka and Thenmozhi.
The theme of the new film is that a school is not a mere building; it's is a cultivating farm. School, which is likened to more than a mother's womb, does its duty non-stop like the sun, the moon and the other elements.
The story is that four friends join hands to building a school with noble objectives. The film aims at bringing out the true spirit of the mission.
The shooting, which begins on Nov. 23, covers Andimadam, Chennai, Kumbakonam, and Kancheepuram and some foreign countries. The film is planned to be released on April 14, Tamil New Year's day.
