Tickets quota for Rajini fans halved for 'Kuselan'

The number of tickets earmarked for members of the Rajini Fan Clubs to enable them to watch the superstar's movies within seven days of their release has been halved for "Kuselan".

K. Sathyanarayanan, manager of the Rajinikanth Fans Association, in a press release, says members of the fan clubs would get only 50 per cent of the tickets that usually went to them.

He says the decision has been taken following representations from the owners of theatres to the association to make tickets available to non-members also and not just members of fan clubs so that they could see the film as soon as it is released.

Sathyanarayanan explains that members of the public are as eager as members of the Rajini fan clubs to see the movie within a week of its release. At the same time members of the fan clubs also should be accommodated. In the circumstances the State-level (apex) association has decided to allocate 50 per cent of the tickets for the fan clubs and the remaining 50 per cent for the general public.

Abhirami Ramanathan, president of the Film Theatre Owners Association, told mediapersons that they want more people to be able to see "Kuselan" within the first three days of its release. Earlier, fan clubs bought almost all the tickets making members of the general public wait indefinitely. So, the theatre owners have requested the Rajinikanth Fans Association to rework this arrangement to give a" fair" chance to non-members also to see the movie on the opening day.
