Two new Sathyaraj films

After "Periyar" which won laurels for Sathyaraj, the veteran actor has signed two new films titled "Vambu Sandai" and "Thangam".


In "Vambu Sandai", Sathyaraj is cast in the role of a strict and upright election commissioner. Raj Kapoor directs this film. Talking about the role, Sathyaraj says he is thrilled." I play a strict election commissioner called Jeevan. I bring all the bad, wicked politicians to book, I have not imitated anyone" (an apparent reference to former chief election commissioner T.N.Seshan). Sathyaraj with a flowing beard wears trendy costumes which give him a new look.


The cast includes Telugu star Uday Kiran and Divya. D. Imman is the music director. He has remixed MGR's hit number "Naan Yaar Naan Yaar" from "Kudiyiruntha Kovil" for "Vambu Sandai".


In "Thangam" which will be directed by Kichcha, Sathyaraj plays a bachelor. Playing opposite him is Megna Nair. The story revolves around Thangam, a respected bigwig of a village, who strives for the welfare of his village. His life turns upside down when he meet a young girl.


D. Shankar is the cinematographer while Srikanth Deva composes the music for the film. Director Kichcha is presently working on "Thee" starring S
