'Vasoolraja' is top of the Music Charts again

Chennai, Aug 31 (IANS): The music of "Vasoolraja M.B.B.S." continues to rule the charts with Kamal Haasan singing two songs.

The top five Tamil albums are:

1. "Vasoolraja M.B.B.S." with music by Vishal Bharadwaj: The movie is a success and so is the music, which sounded very ordinary in the beginning. There seems to be something in at least a couple of songs that has music listeners dancing to them. Both the songs sung by Kamal Haasan, "Kalakka Povathu Yaaro" and "Alwarpetai Aaluda" are huge successes. The title track "Sakalaka Doctor" sung by Bharadwaj, Arjun and Donan is also a hit with listeners.

2. "Madurey": Vidyasagar has done it again. The audio album of the Vijay-starrer "Madurey" is also a hit. One has to wait and see, however, whether the "Machan Peru Madurae" song will become another "Appadi Podu".

3. "4 Students" with music by Jassie Gift: The music of "4 Students" did not create waves in Tamil Nadu as it did in Kerala. Still, the album and some of the songs like "Lajjavathiye", "Ballae Ballae" and "Annakkili" are extremely popular. So are the ring tones.

4. "Gilli" with music by Vidyasagar: New albums and new songs are coming out quite regularly in Tamil but the magic of the "Gilli" album, especially the "Appadi Podu" song, has not diminished. The new song that has come out is the "Gilli" song though it has not become as popular as "Appadi Podu".

5. "New" with music by A.R. Rahman: With Rahman moving out of India, many feel they may not get to hear many Rahamn albums in future. Perhaps, that is the reason why his album "New" is such a big success, even as it becomes less new.
