Vijay signs for AVM film
Jan 21, 2008 PVS'Ilaya Thalapathy' Vijay has signed for a big budget film to be produced by AVM Productions. This is the first time the leading production house has taken Vijay on board. Vijay has met AVM Balasubramanian and his son B. Gurunath Meiyappan and concluded the deal.
AVM Productions is celebrating its 60the anniversary and the birth centenary of its founder A.V. Meiyappa Chettiar. Vijay has bagged the lead role in the new film the title of which will be finalized soon. The rest of the cast and crew will be announced later.
"Azhagiya Tamizh Magan" was the last Vijay-starrer that hit the screen on the Deepavali Day last year. He is currently acting in "Kuruvi" produced by Udhayanidhi Stalin, the grandson of Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi, and directed by Dharani. This movie is expected to be released on Tamil New Year's Day in April this year.
He is also committed to act in a film to be directed by Prabhudeva for Ayangaran International.
