Amost every actor in Tamil Nadu carries a title. The latest is young vivacious actor Vishal whose title is 'Puratchi Thalapathi" (Revolutionary Commander).

Expressing his happiness for being given this title that he likes and would retain it, Vishal made it clear that he is not a competitor to " Ilaya Thalapathi" Vijay, and "am not competent to compete with him". But his ambition is that his films should run as Vijay's, rising to his position in the industry, he said.

Starting with "Chellame", Vishal has so far acted in six films. "Thimiru", Thamiraparani" and "Malaikottai" were successive hits and, according to him, this is indicative of his having made a good progress in his career.

In his forthcoming venture "Sathyam", Vishal plays the role of an Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP). Pairing with him is Nayanthara who plays a journalist with wit and humour. Kannada actor Upendra does an important character.

Rajasekhar directs "Sathyam" being produced under the banner of GK FILMS CORPORATION. Speaking at a press meet, Vishal said the new film has brought an opportunity to bare his physique and "is working on his six pack abs". He explained that nobody down south has attempted such a thing and a duet song in "Sathyam" with Nayanthara is the perfect platform for doing so. But it might work or it might not.

Vishal said he had seen a lot of cop flicks to prepare for this movie. His new look may resemble Surya in "Khakha Khakha", but his role model is only Sylendra Babu (a former Assistant Commissioner of Police, Chennai City). He is doing his homework-keeping Babu in mind for the kind of cop he wants to portray. He is also training to change his body language to suit the character. "You can see only ACP Sathyam in every frame. You cannot see actor Visal anywhere."

"Sathyam" was to have been made soon after "Sandakozhi", but at that time the director thought he was not mature enough for the role. He had done four more films after "Sandakozhi". But Rajasekhar had waited and utilized the waiting time to hone the "Sathyam" story, Vishal said. The film is being made in Telugu also and it is titled "Salute".
