Tollywood actor Akkineni Nagarjuna was booked for outraging the modesty of a freelance journalist on Saturday. Charges were slapped against him for intimidating the woman by the Jubilee Hills police.

Police said that a freelance film journalist along with a few other reporters went to Annapurna studio to cover the shoot of Nagarjuna's upcoming movie 'Damarukam' on Thursday. During the meeting, Nagarjuna picked up an argument with the journalist, who freelances for an English daily, and abused her over a report she wrote several months ago about him.

The actor reportedly used vulgar language against her. After speaking to a few women's organisations, she lodged a complaint at the Jubilee Hills police station on Friday. The police have registered cases under sections 506 (criminal intimidation) and 509 (iword, gesture or act intended to insulting the modesty of a woman) of the IPC.
