No entertainment tax benefits for Jilla and Veeram

Jilla starring Vijay and Veeram starring Ajith released yesterday. Though both the films were given U certificate by the censors, it is now known that they will not be eligible for entertainment tax exemption. In Tamil Nadu, if a movie is censored with U, the makers can apply for entertainment tax exemption, which means the theatres need not have to pay 30% as tax. The commercial tax department has not given tax exemption for both the films. It is said that exemption was not given due to the violence scenes involved in the movie.
